Discover Dantxarinea

Dantxarinea, a village in the Navarran municipality of Urdazubi/Urdax, is the main entry point to Spain for pilgrims walking the Camino de Baztán from Bayonne. This lively border town, situated right on the line with France, is an important commercial and service centre. For the pilgrim, Dantxarinea represents the first contact with Navarran land, a functional and practical place to restock supplies, rest, and stamp their credencial. Although its main attraction is its commercial activity, with numerous shops, its location is privileged, at the gates of the lush and green Baztán Valley. It's a point of transition where languages and cultures mix. From here, the Camino de Santiago enters a landscape of meadows, farmhouses, and forests, leaving behind the bustle of the border to immerse itself in the magic of one of the most beautiful and less crowded Pirennean routes.
