Stage Description
The exit from the monumental Bilbao is demanding, with a strong climb to leave the city. The route enters the Cadagua valley, in a landscape that combines industrial zones with green valleys and mountainous areas. It's a transitional stage that requires patience to leave behind asphalt. Arrival at Balmaseda, a village with a rich medieval heritage of tower houses, offers well-deserved rest in a more rural environment.
