Stage Description
This is a short and gentle stage, ideal for recovering from the long previous days. The route runs through the heart of the Deza region's countryside, in a landscape of meadows, maize fields, and oak woodlands. The route is an enjoyable stroll through rural Galicia, passing by small villages and "pazos" (Galician solar houses). It's a day to walk without hurry, enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings.
The stage that starts near Lalín is a transition phase, shorter and with much more gentle profile than the previous ones. It allows the pilgrim a rest while crossing the Deza comarca in Pontevedra province. The landscape is predominantly rural, a mosaic of fields for cultivation, meadows and dense forests of native trees. The road runs on dirt tracks and quiet local roads, in an environment of great beauty and serenity. It passes through several small villages that conserve the charm of traditional Galicia, with stone houses and their hórreos. It is a stage to enjoy walking, without big concerns about distance or slope. The end of the day arrives in the small parish of Donsión, a rural nucleus offering tranquility and hospitality necessary for a good rest. It's an example of perfect Galicia interior, a place to disconnect and prepare for the final approach to Santiago de Compostela.
