This stage continues through the heart of French Basque Country, on a medium mountain terrain. The profile is a continuous rise and fall through a landscape of valleys and hills. The route runs through a rural environment of great beauty, passing by small villages and hamlets. Arrival in Hasparren, a village with a traditional atmosphere, offers a peaceful final stage with a strong sense of tradition.
This stage is an immersion in the tranquility of Basque-French countryside. From the picturesque Ustaritz, a 15km trail unfolds through a terrain of gentle undulations, passing through landscapes of hills, forests and pastures. It's a short but pleasant journey that allows for a relaxed walk and to enjoy the peace of the rural surroundings. The route enters into a territory with a strong Basque cultural identity, passing by small villages and isolated farmhouses. It's an ideal stage for introspection and connecting with nature. The final day ends in Hasparren, a village with a rich heritage, famous for being an important center of Basque culture. Its San Juan Bautista church and lively weekly market offer the pilgrim a stage finale with charm and all necessary services for a good rest.
