Discover Aver-o-Mar

Aver-o-Mar is a coastal freguesia of the municipality of Póvoa de Varzim, in northern Portugal, fully part of the Senda Litoral of the Portuguese Coastal Way. Pilgrims cross it on long wooden boardwalks that skirt dunes and beaches open to the Atlantic, on a completely flat and highly photogenic stretch. Its character as a fishing quarter, with low houses and restaurants serving fresh fish, makes it a quiet place to rest before carrying on towards Esposende.
