Discover Cervera

Cervera, capital of the Leridanian comarca of the Segarra, is a historic and monumental stop in one of the variants of the Catalan Way (Camí de Sant Jaume). The town had great splendor in the 18th century when it housed the only university of Catalonia, and from that time it conserves the imposing baroque building of the University. For pilgrims, walking along its Major Street, with its arcades, and discovering its old quarter is to immerse oneself in the history of inland Catalonia. The Gothic church of Saint Mary and the medieval wall are among its attractions. The town is also linked to the legend and festivals of witchcraft, with "Aquelarre" as its most famous event. With all necessary services for the pilgrim, Cervera offers a cultural break in the undulating landscape of the Segarra. It's an stage that shows the patrimonial richness of Lleida's lands, a stop that enriches the pilgrimage with its historical legacy and traditions before continuing westward.
