Château-Chinon is the capital of the mountainous and wooded region of Morvan, in Burgundy. For the pilgrim on the Vézelay Way, it's a stop that offers an immersion into rural France and contemporary history, as it was the political fiefdom of former President François Mitterrand. The town has the Septenio Museum and the Costume Museum. Its location atop a hill offers panoramic views of the Natural Park.
