Discover Fornovo di Taro
Fornovo di Taro is a municipality in the province of Parma with great strategic importance on the Via Francigena. Situated by the River Taro, it is the last major stop in the plain before the route begins its demanding ascent to cross the Apennines. Historically, it was the scene of an important battle at the end of the 15th century. For pilgrims, it is a fundamental service center for preparing for mountain stages. The town has a Romanesque church and a peaceful atmosphere. It is the perfect place for a final rest in flat terrain, refueling and mentally preparing for the challenge posed by Passo della Cisa.
