Hita

Hita is one of the medieval villages with most charm in Alcarria, in the province of Guadalajara. Immortalized by the Archpriest of Hita in "The Book of Good Love", the locality overflows with history and literature. Its old town, declared a Historic-Artistic Ensemble, is surrounded by remains of walls and dominated by the ruins of its castle. The Plaza of the Archpriest is the heart of the village, which comes alive every July month with the celebration of its famous Medieval Festival, one of Spain's oldest festivals.
