Discover La Storta
La Storta is a suburb of Rome that holds immense significance for pilgrims on the Francigena Way: it is the final stage before arriving at St. Peter's Square. Although it is now a modern neighborhood, its name is linked to pilgrimage history. From the nearby Monte Mario hill, pilgrims get their first and exciting view of St. Peter's Basilica dome, known as "Gaudium" (joy). It is a functional stop with accommodations for the last night, where anticipation and excitement blend in the atmosphere, preparing the pilgrim for the triumphant entrance into Eternal City.
