Discover O Freixo

O Freixo, a parish in the municipality of Outes, is an ethnographic stop on the Jacobean route of Muros-Noia's Ría. This small port, located at the bottom of the ría, is famous for its traditional riverine carpentry workshops where boats are still built and repaired from wood in a traditional way. For pilgrims, visiting O Freixo is a unique opportunity to know this ancestral craft and admire the work of master craftsmen. The atmosphere in the port is highly authentic, far removed from large tourist circuits. The landscape, with traditional boats moored in the ría and the sound of tools, creates an unique ambiance. The route that reaches here is very beautiful, bordering the coastline and offering stunning views of Tambre Estuary. It's a stage that enriches the pilgrimage with a deep knowledge of Galician maritime culture, a stop that connects the walker to the roots and skills of sea people.
