Discover Pontassieve
Pontassieve is an important town located just east of Florence, at the confluence of the Arno and Sieve rivers. For the pilgrim starting the Cammino di San Francesco, it's one of the first stages, marking the exit from the metropolitan area of Florence. Its symbol is the imposing Medici Bridge, which offers a beautiful view of the river junction. The town, with a commercial and residential character, has all the necessary services for the walker. It's a practical stop to acclimate to the pace of the road, in an environment that already begins to show the beauty of Tuscan countryside before venturing into the Casentino mountains.
