Discover Rorschach
Rorschach, an enchanting port city on the Swiss shore of Lake Constance (Bodensee), is one of the main starting points of the Jacob's Way, the Jacobean route that traverses Switzerland. Starting the pilgrimage here is to begin with a setting of exceptional beauty, with lake waters in front and the silhouette of the Alps in the background. The city, with its lively waterfront promenade and old town, offers a relaxed atmosphere and all necessary services for the pilgrim to prepare for the adventure. The Kornhaus, an 18th-century grain warehouse, is its most iconic building. From Rorschach, the Camino de Santiago enters the Appenzell region, famous for its gentle hills and rural traditions. It's a starting point that combines the beauty of a large European lake with the promise of alpine landscapes, a perfect introduction to the long journey through Switzerland en route to Santiago de Compostela.
