Discover San Gimignano
San Gimignano, known as "Medieval Manhattan", is one of the most iconic postcards of Tuscany and a major stop on the Francigena Way. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this small walled town rises above a hill, with an unmistakable profile drawn by its 14 medieval towers that have survived to this day (it once had over seventy). These towers, symbol of the power of rival noble families, create a unique atmosphere. For pilgrims, strolling through its historic quarter is a genuine journey into the past. The Piazza della Cisterna and Piazza del Duomo are at the heart of local life. The Collegiata, with its impressive frescoes, is a jewel of art. Despite being a very touristy destination, it retains its charm, especially in the morning and evening. It offers a spectacular landscape, a unique heritage, and the opportunity to taste the local white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano. A milestone that remains etched in the memory of every walker.
