The Town

Discover Sax

Sax is an Alicante village with the most photogenic silhouette on the Southeastern Way. Its imposing rocky castle, set on a steep rock outcrop, dominates the Vinalopó valley and is a testament to its strategic importance in ancient times. For the pilgrim, the view of the castle is a milestone that inspires the journey. The town, at its feet, preserves an old quarter with narrow streets and the church of Our Lady of the Assumption. The locality offers essential services for the walker in a peaceful atmosphere. It's a stopover with a deep historical flavour, ideal to rest and admire one of the most spectacular fortresses on the Levantine Jacobean Way.
