Discover Vila Real de Santo António
Vila Real de Santo António is the last Portuguese city at the river Guadiana's mouth, bordering the Spanish Ayamonte. Its urban layout, with straight streets and a central square, is an exemplary representation of Pombaline architecture from the 18th century. For pilgrims, it is an important starting or stopping point on the Portuguese Way of the Coast. The city offers a lively commercial atmosphere and all necessary services. The ferry crossing the Guadiana connects both banks and both countries, creating a constant flow. It's an ideal place to enjoy the river landscape, its beach, and prepare for the Jacobean adventure through Portuguese or Spanish territories.
