Discover Villahermosa del Río
Villahermosa del Río, a picturesque municipality in the Alto Mijares region, is one of the most notable stages for its natural surroundings on the Camino de Santiago of Castellón. Located at the foot of the Penyagolosa massif, the "roof" of the Valencian Community, it offers pilgrims a high mountain landscape of exceptional beauty. The locality is the starting point for numerous hiking routes, including one that leads to the birthplace of the Carbo River. For the Jacobean walker, it is a stopover that invites disconnection and enjoyment of nature in its purest form. The town, with narrow and steep streets, preserves the charm of rural mountain architecture. The Church of the Nativity, with its baroque tower, is its main monument. With basic services for pilgrims, Villahermosa is a refuge of peace and a place to recharge surrounded by majestic scenery. It is an stage that deeply connects with nature before entering the Turolense lands of the Maestrazgo.
