Discover Villava
Villava (Atarrabia in Basque), a contiguous locality to Pamplona, is the last urban stop that the Camino Francés pilgrim finds before entering the capital of Navarre. Famous for being the birthplace of five-time Tour de France champion cyclist Miguel Induráin, the village offers modern surroundings and all services. For walkers, passing through Villava is almost a stroll through town that merges with Pamplona's walk. Its main attraction for the Jacobean route is the pleasant Fluvial Park along the Arga River, offering a nature break and a serene path before the final stretch towards the city center. The Puente de la Trinidad in neighboring Arre marks the beginning of this stretch. Villava is a functional stopping point where pilgrims can restock or even overnight if they prefer a quieter atmosphere than Pamplona's city center, but with all amenities. It is the last village on the Camino as such before the route becomes the street of a large city, marking the end of a cycle in pilgrimage.
