Stage Description
This is a short and symbolic stage, serving as a transition and rest. The path connects the Communications Node of Almuradiel with the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Virtues. It's a flat walk through the Manchegan countryside, ideal for a reflective day. The Sanctuary, with its unique square bullring (declared Historic-Artistic Monument), is a place of great tradition and a haven of peace. This is the perfect finale for a short journey that allows the pilgrim to enjoy the local culture and tranquility.
The short journey between Almuradiel and the Sanctuary of Virtues is a perfect epilogue to the harsh Manchegan stages. It's a gentle stroll that allows the pilgrim to arrive on time and with energy at a very special place. The path, almost flat, runs through a landscape of meadows and fields of cultivation. The destination is the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Virtues, an important Marian devotion center in the region. The complex includes a beautiful hermitage and, attached to it, one of the oldest and most singular bullrings in Spain, built in the 17th century in a square shape. This space, declared a Historic-Artistic Monument, hosts festivals and celebrations that have their roots in tradition. The atmosphere at Las Virtudes is absolute peace, an ideal place for reflection and rest before facing the next stage, which enters into the province of Ciudad Real.
