Stage Description
This stage continues through the Torrijos region, on terrain with gentle undulations. The landscape is a mosaic of cultivated fields and pastures. The highlight of the journey is the arrival at Escalona, a village with an impressive castle-palace by the Alberche River. Its medieval bridge and Plaza Mayor complete a monumental ensemble of great beauty. It's a stop with a large historical and natural charm.
The stage between Novés and Escalona is a pleasant stage that approaches the valley of the River Alberche. The profile is gentle, without great difficulties. The landscape is a mix of cultivated fields and oak woodlands. Arrival in Escalona is the highlight of the day. This village, of great importance during the Middle Ages, is dominated by its impressive Mudéjar castle-palace, which overlooks the River Alberche. Walking along its walls and enjoying the views is an unforgettable experience. The village also has a beautiful Plaza Mayor covered portico and a medieval bridge. It's the perfect end to the stage for history and nature lovers.
