Stage Description
This is a short and beautiful stage that connects the two great destinations of the Jacobean extension: Finisterre and Muxía. Starting from the village of Finisterre, the route enters into the interior, on a gentle undulation through a rural and wooded landscape. It's a peaceful day that allows you to enjoy authentic Galicia. The final stage ends in the small village of Lires, located on a beautiful estuary forming a valuable ecosystem. Lires is a haven of peace, famous for being a perfect spot for birdwatching and for its hospitality.
For pilgrims who decide to complete the circle and unite the two ends of the Camino, the stage from Finisterre to Lires is the first step. It's a short and pleasant journey that moves away from the coast to enter the interior. The route runs through a rural landscape, through pine and eucalyptus forests, and small villages. This small village sits on the shores of Ría de Lires, Galicia's smallest estuary. It's a place of serene beauty, with a small beach and a wooden bridge that crosses the estuary. The Ría de Lires is an important stopover for migratory birds, making it an ideal destination for birdwatchers. Its hostels and rural houses are known for their warm welcome and excellent cuisine, being a perfect place to rest.
