Stage Description
At this stage, the terrain becomes considerably smoother. The road crosses the vast agricultural plain of Bièvre, a landscape of open horizons and fields of cultivation. It's a long but flat journey ideal for maintaining a good pace. Arrival in La Côte-Saint-André, the birthplace of composer Hector Berlioz, is a culturally rich endpoint. It's a day to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside and music.
The Le Pin to La Côte-Saint-André stage is a 25 km journey that crosses the Bièvre plain. The route starts at Le Pin (530 m) and follows a mostly descending profile, with some undulations, until the city of La Côte-Saint-André (400 m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with fields of cultivation and forests. It is a peaceful and easy walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and arrive in time to explore the destination city. La Côte-Saint-André, the birthplace of composer Hector Berlioz, is one of the most interesting stops on the Via Gebennensis route. Its heritage, including Louis XI Castle and the Hector Berlioz Museum, and its lively atmosphere, make it one of the most important stops on the route. This stage combines a gentle exercise with a rich cultural experience, a perfect balance in the Via Gebennensis.
