Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
This short and pleasant stage is the first for many pilgrims. The route is a continuous up and down through rural Galicia. It's a day to enjoy the landscape and the pilgrim atmosphere. Arrival in Ferreiros, a small village with a Romanesque church, is an authentic final stage. It's a transition day that marks the start of the last stages of the road.
The Sarria to Ferreiros stage is a short 12 km journey that is the first for many pilgrims. The trail starts in Sarria (450 m) and follows an undulating profile with a gentle ascent towards Ferreiros (600 m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with forests and meadows. It's a pleasant walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and the peregrine atmosphere. The arrival at Ferreiros, a small village with a Romanesque church, is an authentic stage end. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, a perfect balance on the French Way.
