Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
Cycle-touring stage through the Somontano of Huesca. Its 60 km or so link Monzón (with its impressive Templar castle on the hill, where the young Jaime I el Conquistador was educated) with Huesca, capital of Upper Aragón. The landscape is one of almond trees, vineyards (D.O. Somontano) and hillside olive groves. Huesca preserves the Gothic cathedral (Santa María) and the monumental ensemble of the old Reino de Aragón.
