Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

A stage of the Cammino di San Jacopo toscano, an Italian Jacobean route that follows in the historical footsteps of the pilgrims from the Tuscan coast to Santiago de Compostela. The 12 km link Pisa (with its famous Tower, the Piazza dei Miracoli and the Pisan cathedral) with the coastal town of Tirrenia. The route leaves the historic center of Pisa and heads towards the Tyrrhenian Sea through the natural park of San Rossore, passing through maritime pinewoods. Tirrenia is a modern seaside resort founded in the 1930s.
The stage from Sainte-Foy-la-Grande to La Réole is a 24km journey that follows the course of the Dordogne River. The route starts in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (20m) and follows a mostly flat profile, with a gentle descent towards La Réole (15m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, following part of the river's course. It is an enjoyable walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. Arrival in La Réole, a city with a rich heritage, including its old priory and town hall, is a culturally interesting endpoint. This stage combines gentle exercise with a rich historical experience, a perfect balance on the Lemovicensis Way.
