Stage Description
Stage of the Camino del Ebro following the right bank of the river. The 27 km link Quinto with El Burgo de Ebro through a landscape of orchards, rice fields and irrigated meadows of the middle Ebro. El Burgo de Ebro is a municipality of Zaragoza in the metropolitan area of the capital, with an agricultural tradition and traditional riverside architecture.
This stage marks the entry into Galicia. The route follows the coastline, passing through the coastal village of Tapia de Casariego. The most important milestone is crossing the Puente de los Santos over the Ría del Eo, the natural border between Asturias and Galicia. Arrival in Ribadeo, the first Galician city, with its spectacular Plaza de España and port, is a moment of great symbolism. Ribadeo is also the entrance to the famous Catedral Beach.
