Agen is an important city in southwestern France, located by the River Garonne. For pilgrims on the Le Puy Way, it's a functional and pleasant stopover. The city is worldwide famous for its prunes (pruneaux d'Agen), which can be tasted at the market and shops. Its most singular monument is the canal bridge over the Garonne, an impressive engineering work. The city center, with its boulevard and Saint-Caprais cathedral, offers a lively atmosphere and all services. It's an ideal stage for a comfortable rest, enjoying local cuisine, and recharging before continuing on the route through Gascony.
