Discover Delta del Ebro
The Ebro Delta, one of Europe's most important wetlands, offers a spectacular and unique starting point for the Camino Jacobeo del Ebro. Starting the pilgrimage here is to immerse oneself in a completely flat and aquatic landscape, a maze of rice fields, lagoons, dunes, and endless beaches. This Natural Park is a paradise for birdwatching, with hundreds of species finding refuge in its waters. For pilgrims, the first stages unfold along rural roads between rice fields, a landscape that changes color with the seasons, from intense green in spring to golden hues in summer. The route is marked by the constant presence of water and rich biodiversity. Localities like Deltebre or Sant Jaume d'Enveja offer the first services. Starting the Camino de Santiago at the Ebro Delta is an experience of deep connection with nature, a serene and different way to begin the long journey that follows the course of Spain's most flowing river, an adventure born where land and sea meet.
