Discover Girona

Girona, one of the cities with the most history in Catalonia, is a monumental and indispensable stop on the Catalan Way (Camí de Sant Jaume). The city captivates the pilgrim with an iconic image: colorful hanging houses over the Onyar River, with the majestic Cathedral and the Basilica of St. Feliu dominating the horizon. Its old town (Barri Vell) is a treasure, with one of Europe's best-preserved Jewish quarters (Call). For the walker, visiting the Cathedral is a highlight, especially to admire its Gothic nave, the widest in the world, and the Tapestry of Creation, a masterpiece of Romanesque art. Walking along the carolingian wall offers breathtaking views. Girona is a great service center, with an excellent gastronomic and cultural offer. On the Way of St. James, it's an etapa that offers a deep bath in history, art, and beauty, a place to rest, learn, and marvel before continuing on the route into the heart of Catalonia.
