The Town

Discover Igüeña

Igüeña is the capital of an extensive municipality in the Leónese comarca of El Bierzo. Its identity, like that of the whole area, is marked by coal mining, whose legacy is visible in the landscape. For the pilgrim of the Forgotten Way, it's a stopover offering services in a mountain setting. The locality, washed by the river which bears its name, is a good point for rest. Its surroundings allow discovering the combination of the natural beauty of Bercian mountains with the traces of its industrial past. It's a functional stage that allows recharging forces before continuing on to Ponferrada.
