The pilgrim can obtain their credential at the Patriarchal Cathedral (Cathedral) and begin walking from the heart of one of Europe's oldest capitals. Before departing, it is essential to explore its charming neighborhoods, such as Alfama, with its labyrinthine streets and the sound of fado, or Belém, with its imposing Jerónimos Monastery and Tower of Belém, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The vibrant atmosphere, its yellow trams, and exquisite cuisine, including pastéis de nata as a symbol, offer a memorable farewell.
