Puente la Reina of Jaca, a small town in the province of Huesca, is a stop on the Aragonese Way that often causes confusion due to its similar name to the famous Navarre crossing. However, this Aragonese locality has its own identity and serves as an important service point on the route descending from Somport. The town, of modern origin, emerged as a hub for services at a crossroads of roads. For the pilgrim of the Way of St James, it is a functional stop, with hostels, restaurants and shops, ideal for rest and replenishment. Its main landmark is the bridge over the Aragon River, which facilitates passage for walkers. It is an intermediate stage that leaves behind the mountainous zones of the Pyrenees to enter a more open landscape, approaching the borders with Navarre. It is a place to experience Aragonese hospitality and share experiences with other pilgrims before continuing westward in search of union with the French Way.
