Rubielos de Mora, in the Turonian region of Gúdar-Javalambre, is one of the most spectacular stops on the Camino de Sagunto. It proudly bears the title of one of "Spain's Most Beautiful Towns" and has received the Europa Nostra award for its conservation work. For the pilgrim, arriving at Rubielos is discovering a medieval treasure, a perfectly preserved historic fortress with cobblestone streets, noble houses with wrought-iron gates and monumental portals. Its two ancient gateways from the old city wall, San Antonio and the Carmen, welcome the traveler. The Excolegiata of Santa María la Mayor and the Renaissance town hall are architectural jewels. The entire village is an outdoor museum that invites a peaceful stroll and admiration.
