San Esteban de Gormaz

St. Stephen of Gormaz is a historic Sorian village, one of the most important stops on the Way of the Wool and the Route of the Cid. Situated by the Duero River, it is considered one of the cradles of Romanesque, as its church of St. Michael houses the first covered gallery of this style in Spain. The church of Our Lady of the Ford, also Romanesque, and the remains of its imposing castle complete an exceptional monumental ensemble.
