Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
Cycling stage through the mountains of Lugo, a long day (about 70 km) that links A Fonsagrada with Lugo. The route descends from the high plateau of Lugo through the valleys of the rivers Eo and Miño to the capital of Lugo, with a predominantly downhill profile. Lugo is the only city in the world with an intact Roman wall (UNESCO World Heritage), 2.1 km of fortification that can be walked along its parapet.
Leaving behind the monumental Medina del Campo, this stage follows the course of the River Duero. The route is flat and pleasant, ideal for recovering strength. It's a day to enjoy the riverine landscape and the tranquility of the road. The arrival in Tordesillas, a village with a rich historical heritage and an impressive medieval bridge, is a monumental final stage. This is a transitional stage that brings the pilgrim closer to the province of Zamora.
