Stage Description
A brief and relatively comfortable stage that descends from A Pobra do Brollón to the Cabe River valley, with a final ascending section to the monumental city of Monforte de Lemos. It offers a peaceful journey through rural landscapes dotted with small settlements, with the beauty of Ribeira Sacra surroundings.
This winter Camino day, although with moderate distance (13.8 km), presents an initial descending profile and then a significant ascent at the end. Starting from A Pobra do Brollón, the route enters the heart of rural Ribeira Sacra, offering views of wooded and agricultural landscapes. The main challenge is the pronounced downhill descent to the Cabe River, followed by the climb to Monforte. Arrival in Monforte de Lemos, capital of Ribeira Sacra, rewards the pilgrim with its imposing San Vicente do Pino monastery and rich historical and cultural heritage. It's an episode that combines contact with nature with immersion in the history and gastronomy of interior Galicia, being a precursor to exploring this singular region.
