Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

Final stage of the Camino del Ebro to Logroño, capital of La Rioja. The about 24 km border the Ebro entering Logroño by the Stone Bridge and Portales Street. The city offers the spectacular Co-cathedral of Santa María de la Redonda, the historic center linked to the French Way (which also passes through here) and the famous Laurel Street with its tapas. It is the junction point with the French Way.
This stage ventures into western Asturias, offering a medium-difficulty route through undulating terrain. The route passes by the village of Grado before tackling the climb to the Alto de la Doriga. An important milestone is passing through the Monastery of San Salvador in Cornellana. The route combines sections on local roads with trails through forests. Arrival at the medieval village of Salas, with its imposing defensive tower and collegiate church, is the crowning glory of a richly endowed day of historical heritage and natural scenery.
