The Via Tolosana begins in the monumental Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage City. This first stage is a flat walk that enters the unique landscape of the Camarga, a vast marshland and agricultural plain. It's a transition day, ideal for getting accustomed to the pace of the trail. The arrival at Saint-Gilles, with its impressive Romanesque abbey, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, marks the first encounter with the spiritual and artistic wealth of this French Jacobean route.
