Stage Description

This stage moves away from the industrial heartland and enters the western coast of Asturias. The approximately 23 km cross the Avilés estuary and run through the countryside and along the coast to Muros de Nalón, at the mouth of the river of the same name. The landscape is once again rural and alternates between coast and inland, with granaries, villages and mixed forests. Muros is a small village with a seafaring tradition and views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The journey between Loeches and Pozuelo del Rey is an immersion in the Alcarria region. The profile is a gentle rise and fall through a landscape of cereal fields and olive groves, characteristic of the plateau. The road runs on dirt tracks, in a tranquil environment with open horizons. It's a stage to enjoy the silence and austere beauty of the Castilian countryside. Arrival at Pozuelo del Rey is the highlight of the day. This small town, situated on top of a hill, acts as a natural balcony over the region, offering spectacular panoramic views. Its church of Santo Domingo de Silos and its traditional village atmosphere make it an authentic final stage. It's a perfect place for rest and to enjoy the hospitality of its people.
