Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

The last stage of the Camino Sanabrés is a short but emotionally charged journey. The route is a gentle stroll that descends into the valley of the Ulla River before tackling the final uphill climb on the Camino. The final stretch is an urban walkway that ventures into Santiago's historic quarter. Arrival at Praza do Obradoiro and the view of the Cathedral marks the end of the long journey from the south, a moment of unforgettable intensity.
This stage enters the Gascony region, a land of hills and fields of cultivation. The route is demanding, with an undulating profile and continuous ups and downs. It's a day to enjoy the beauty of the landscape and the solitude of the trail. Arrival in Auch, the capital of Gascony, with its imposing Cathedral of Saint Mary and Monumental Staircase, is a culturally rich endpoint. This stage requires good physical preparation but rewards with spectacular landscapes.
