Stage Description
This stage is a tough mountain day that ventures into the deepest Galicia. The profile is a continuous rise and fall, with the ascent to Montouto as the main milestone. The landscape is serene in beauty, with forests, meadows, and scattered villages. Arrival at A Fonsagrada, the highest municipal capital of Galicia, is the reward for a day's effort. The village, famous for its cuisine, offers a warm welcome to the pilgrim.
This stage enters the Beauce plain, "France's granary", a flat and monotonous route at times, a landscape of fields and endless horizons. A day that tests the pilgrim's endurance. The arrival in Chartres, with its Gothic cathedral, World Heritage Site, is an unbeatable reward. It's a stage of overcoming, which strengthens both body and spirit.
