Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

Stage that moves away from the Ebro valley towards the Moncayo, the sacred mountain of Aragon. The 25 km link Borja with Tarazona, a Mudejar city World Heritage Site for its impressive Gothic-Mudejar cathedral (13th-16th centuries). The landscape changes from vineyards to almond and olive groves as you ascend towards the Moncayo foothills. Tarazona, known as the 'Toledo of Aragon', preserves a unique Jewish-Mudejar quarter and the oldest bullring in Spain.
This is a short and pleasant stage that follows the course of the Huecha River, on a flat and beautiful route. The landscape is a mix of vineyards and cereal fields. Arrival in Tarazona, "Toledo of Moncayo", with its impressive cathedral and Jewish quarter neighborhood, is a monumental final stage. It's a day to enjoy art and history in a privileged setting.
