Stage Description
Cycle touring stage through the Castilian plateau. The 60 km link Burgos (Gothic cathedral World Heritage) with Boadilla del Camino through the region of Paramo and Tierra de Campos in Palencia. The profile is predominantly flat, ideal for fast cycling through endless cereal fields. Boadilla del Camino is a small town with the parish church from the 16th century and the justice roll, symbol of its ancient condition of royal villa.
This long stage is a true challenge that says goodbye to Andalusia to enter Extremadura. The route is a continuous up and down through the La Serena countryside. It's a day of great beauty and physical demand. The arrival in Monterrubio de la Serena, a famous town for its olive oil, is a gastronomic final stage. It's a stage of overcoming that marks the entry into the land of the Via de la Plata.
