Stage Description

This stage enters the Leonesa Central Mountains. The profile is a gentle but continuous ascent following the valley of the Bernesga River. The landscape is of great beauty, with the peaks of the Cantabrian Range drawing ever closer. It is a day to enjoy nature and fresh mountain air. Arrival in Pola de Gordón, a village with a large mountain atmosphere, offers an end-of-stage arrival with all services.
The stage that connects La Robla with Pola de Gordón is an immersion in the Leonesa Central Mountains. The path continues to ascend the valley of the Bernesga River, on a gentle but constant climb. The landscape is spectacular, with the imposing peaks of the Cantabrian Range dominating the horizon. The route runs through a natural environment of great value, with oak and beech forests. It passes through several small villages that preserve traditional mountain architecture. Arrival in Pola de Gordón, the capital of the concejo, marks the end of the stage. This village, with a marked mountain atmosphere, is an important center for services and an ideal place for the pilgrim to rest. Its natural surroundings are perfect for hiking and nature lovers.
