Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

Final-classic stage of the Camino dos Faros that links Camariñas (village famous for its bobbin lace, Intangible Cultural Heritage) with Muxía, a place of pilgrimage linked to the Jacobean pilgrimage to the sanctuary of Virxe da Barca (where tradition places the apparition of the Virgin to the apostle Santiago). The 30 km are one of the most spectacular journeys along the coast of Death, with cliffs, coves and the lighthouse of Cape Vilán at the beginning.
The Tomar to Alvaiázere stage is a 32-kilometer long journey that ventures into the central Portugal's hills. The trail starts in Tomar (80 m) and follows an undulating profile, with a gentle ascent towards Alvaiázere (200 m). The route traverses a beautiful landscape, with forests and hills. It's a demanding walk due to its length, but it rewards with the beauty of its scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. Arrival in Alvaiázere, a small village in a valley, is well-deserved rest. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, a perfect balance on the Portuguese Way.
