Stage Description
This stage enters the foothills of the Toledo Mountains. The profile becomes more demanding, with a continuous up and down through an olive grove and low mountain landscape. It is a beautiful day that leaves the plain to approach the mountain. Arrival in Urda, an important center of marine pilgrimage, famous for its Sanctuary of the Holy Christ of the True Cross, offers a final stage of great spirituality.
This stage enters the Gascony region, a land of hills and fields of cultivation. The route is demanding, with an undulating profile and continuous ups and downs. Arrival in Auch, the capital of Gascony, with its imposing Cathedral of Saint Mary and its Monumental Staircase, is a culturally rich final stage. It's a stage that requires good physical preparation, but rewards with spectacular landscapes.
