Stage Description
This is a very demanding stage that involves a radical change of landscape. From the Rhone valley, the route ascends continuously to the mountains of the Pilat Massif. It's a hard day with considerable elevation gain. The scenery becomes mountainous and wooded, of great beauty. Arrival in Bourg-Argental, a village at the heart of the Pilat, is well-deserved rest. This stage is for prepared walkers, a challenge that rewards immersion in the wildest nature.
The Chavanay to Bourg-Argental stage is a 26.2km journey that ventures into the Pilat Massif. The route starts in Chavanay (150m) and follows an ascending profile, with a continuous climb up to Bourg-Argental (525m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with pine and beech forests, and offers panoramic views of the Rhone Valley. It is a demanding walk that requires good physical preparation. Arrival in Bourg-Argental, a village at the heart of Pilat, is well-deserved rest. It's an stage that combines great physical challenge with mountain beauty and a final in a town with rich cultural and gastronomic offerings.
