Stage Description

This is one of the longest and most monotonous stages of the Via Turonensis, a journey through the heart of the Landes forest. The route is completely flat but very demanding due to its distance and lack of services. It's a day for solitude and reflection, an authentic pine desert. Arrival in Labouheyre, a small town with services, is a well-deserved reward after the effort.
The Le Barp to Labouheyre stage is one of the longest and most monotonous sections of the Turonensis Way, a 41 km marathon that traverses the heart of the Landes forest. The route starts at Le Barp (60 m) and follows a mostly flat profile with a gentle ascent towards Labouheyre (80 m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape with endless pine forests. It is an demanding walk due to its length and lack of services, requiring good physical and mental preparation. The arrival in Labouheyre, a small village with services, is a well-deserved reward for the effort.
