Stage Description
After the mountain, the road descends gently towards Lake Zurich. It's a more relaxed stage that allows you to enjoy the scenery and look forward to arriving at one of Switzerland's most beautiful cities. The journey ends in the beautiful Rapperswil, "The City of Roses", with its iconic wooden bridge over the lake and medieval castle. A final stage of great charm and beauty.
The Gibswil to Rapperswil stage is a 16.4 km journey that gently descends towards Lake Zurich. The route starts in Gibswil (757 m) and follows a mainly descending profile with some undulations, until the city of Rapperswil (409 m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape with oak and beech forests, offering panoramic views of the lake. It is a peaceful and easy walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and arrive in time to explore the destination city. Rapperswil, "The City of Roses", is one of the most interesting stops on the Jacob's Way route. Its heritage, with its castle and wooden bridge, and lively atmosphere make it one of the most important stops on the route. It's an easy stage that combines gentle exercise with rich cultural experience, a perfect balance on the Jacob's Way.
