Stage Description
Final stage of the Inland Basque Way by bicycle, which leaves the Basque Country and descends to La Rioja to connect with the French Way in Santo Domingo de la Calzada. The 58 km route crosses the Ebro valley at Miranda de Ebro and continues through the Najerilla region of La Rioja. The landscape changes radically from Atlantic green to Mediterranean countryside with vineyards in La Rioja. Santo Domingo, founded by the saint after whom the town is named, houses the famous cathedral of the miracle of the rooster and the turkey, and is a key point on the French Way.
The English Way variant from A Coruña by bike is a long and demanding stage. The route enters the inner Galicia, with a profile of hills and a beautiful landscape. It's a day for prepared cyclists, that unite Hercules city with Santiago's prelude in one day. Arrival at Sigüeiro, where it joins the Ferrol route, is the reward for great effort.
